Joe’s interest in meteorology was fostered from a very young age in a love for severe thunderstorms. He followed his passion into college, where he became a lead forecaster for the Indiana Department of Transportation while earning his degrees. Joe’s first taste of weather applications to the energy and agriculture sectors came during an internship with Chesapeake Energy’s weather team in Chicago. There he learned the importance of tailoring a forecast to specific client needs, and gained invaluable experience interacting with clients on a daily basis. He has since become an active member of the American Meteorological Society’s Energy Committee.
